We firmly believe that client success lies with employee fulfillment.
Burns White is committed to the overall well-being of our employees, striving to provide a challenging, rewarding, and diverse environment. Our Women’s Initiative helps create this culture—one that emphasizes professional development, individualism, and open communication.
The goals of the Women’s Initiative are to:
- promote the retention of attorneys
- foster a positive work-life balance
- encourage the exchange of ideas, and
- address the personal and professional challenges in the legal profession
The members of the Women’s Initiative meet regularly to discuss topics that promote work-life balance. The firm promotes the ability to create a flex/part-time work schedule that encourages attorneys to balance personal commitments, while remaining dedicated to serving our clients.
Burns White provides new attorneys with mentors to assist them in their professional development so they can better service their clients. Forging a constructive relationship between our attorneys and our clients allows us to understand our clients’ needs better to provide creative and cost-effective solutions.
Additionally, the Women’s Initiative encourages attorneys to develop and promote their practices by joining and taking leadership positions in professional associations, as well as speaking at seminars and conferences. The firm also provides opportunities for attorneys to participate in professional and social networking events in an effort to raise the profile of the attorneys and the firm.
Lastly, the Women’s Initiative believes it is important to be involved in the community in which we practice, and seeks out female-owned or female-based charities to support, both financially and with volunteer hours.
