Our Pro Bono Committee is central to the overall mission of Burns White. Led by Member John Steidle, it partners with community-based organizations in need of legal representation, matching needs with the interests of attorneys in the firm. From day one of their employment at Burns White, we encourage our attorneys to become active members of the community and devote a percentage of their time to pro bono representation. Engrained in the fabric of our culture, we believe that building strong ties in our communities enriches our lives and the lives of those we touch.
Burns White is a proud founding member of the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership and a participant in the McKees Rocks Legal Clinic, a signature project of the partnership offering free legal assistance to low-income individuals in the McKees Rocks and Stowe Township (Sto-Rox) area. The firm also supports the Neighborhood Legal Services Association’s Protection from Abuse Program, as well as Wills for Heroes, a program providing free estate planning documents for first responders, such as EMTs, policemen, and firefighters.
While the challenge is great, we remain committed to helping to improve the lives of others in the communities in which we live and work.
